The 2022 Golf GTI will carry a 2.0-liter turbocharged direct-injection TSI engine, making it the most powerful Golf GTI to ever hit production. This engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a 7 speed DSG automatic transmission. The Golf GTI produces 241 horsepower, 13 more than the MK7 GTI and 273 lb-ft of torque.
